Apparently they have sold quite a few cars over the past 6 months... there were a few bare spots left from my last visit back in Feb 2004.
Sims metal didnt pay that when they were in there crushing them !
I was wondering why SIMS had not crushed the lot until Matt said the wrecker has been getting $1500 per car... I think SIMS only offers $300 by comparison... perhaps the increasing value of FBs and EKs are starting to protect these cars from the SIMS man...
I was their last week called in coming back from the custom rod nats at Philip Island priced chromed headlight surrounds 80 each in not so good nick.
$10 to walk around the wrecks but you get a postcard as you leave.
Brown bear did you notice all the good chrome bits stacked in the back of the panel van in your pics?

I see a new show based on overhaulin scrapheap challenge and biker build offf.
As the producer I would hire the wrecking yard for one week , in this time Ratbox is set free to build something cool from the 30s 40s 50s or 60s .
It has to be driven away at the end of the 7th day and the work area tidy .
Sponsors will pay for all ascociated costs with a place on the show for their advertising .
A fire brigade on hand will be volontary and may be used to help in the build .
Yep, that panel van had a few nice bits in it, as did one of the wagons up on the hill ... one sedan still has its gear lever lock in place. Quite a few doors had scratch plate 'shadows' (not surprised), though surprisingly there seemed to be a few sun visors stashed around the place...
Harko, love the TV show idea! Time we introduced the safety-conscious world to the wonders of the 'ratbox rotissery'
