Been trying to install a new dizzy (Schorcher)I can not get it to sit flush on to the block it will not drop straight in and there is a 5mm cap between the dizzy and block. The oil pump slot is not an issue as the oil pump as been removed, I tried moving the dizzy a tooth at a time but still no luck I can't even get the old dizzy back in same drama, any help will be much appricated.

totally frustrated

Here is a pic of mine installed

is the gap larger than that if not then it is OK

I would refit the oil pump before fitting the dizzy that way you can tell if it is in properly
