ok the first photo is an ek ute fitted with a 308 trimatic and 9" diff this ute was extemely good and virtually rust free it had stock grey motor when i bought it this photo was taken the day i sold it to a person on here now, mark ekv8ute he's painted it and done the trim
Second was an ek wagon that had the back doors and sides filled it had a worked red motor and 4 speed disc brake front it to was a pretty good body to start with
Next is a flatblack ek sedan this is one i spoke of in another section the disc brake front was chanelled it had drop stubs and cut springs the rear of the front guard was 3" off the ground the bac had flipped springs and lowering blocks the rear spring hangers would drag on the ground over bumps if you had rear seat pasengers this car had a red motor and trimatic it was in chev power magazine in america photo taken at summernats
Next fb wagon simular set up to previous sedan
Next ek convertable red motor trimatic this was made from a wagon rear tailgate welded shut dash smoothed bumpers smoothed
Finally ek sedan chopped 3" 2 doored and pillarless front doors lengthened 5" it only had a worked grey motor and a 4 speed (it's biggest let down)
all the above cars were built by me and a couple of freinds a panel beater for the tricky bits and a guy that welds for the stuff that counts all were built in the back yard (not even a shed) were engineered and legally registered in NSW and i think are still all on the road

Thanks for the pic's, very cool looking bunch of customs, a bloke could learn alot from someone with your experience.
Dont recon there's anything wrong with the old grey though!

yeah greys are ok and the one in the car sounded and looked good had cam head twin carbs extractors but they just seem to lack the power i like from at least a red motor

WOW Mick we musta been brothers in another life?
I know of the trials and tribulations you've had building these cars, just wondering how you went about strengthening the convertable?
I still get people telling me that my van use to be a wagon.
A jar of vasoline and oxy ya can do anything!

hi hemi it had box tube connecting sub frame to rear chassis section and the sills triangulated (plate from bottom of sill to floor) plates filling the y of the sub frame and because the tailgate was welded shut it didn't need cross brace if in sedan this would be behind rear seat plated

thanks thery're reasonably easy to do with a little knowledge, aussiebogan what type of apprentice are you?
you could quite easily replicate the flat black sedan without a total rebuild
