Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on different types of scratch-plates that I've seen over the last couple of years.

Some scratchplates have a pearl/frosted finish in the centre of them, and a polished chrome on the outside.

Some others seem to be chromed all over?

Here is an example of one that has chrome finish all over:

Which one of these is the original finish off the production line?

as always, I did do a search before posting - but the search term "scratch plate" returned "624 results". I gave up after reading about 285 posts
