Can anyone help with information about Oil Filters for grey motors?

I've seen a couple of different models recently on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... K:MEWAX:IT

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... K:MEWNX:IT

Looking to go as authentic as possible ... were there any that came stock (nasco accessories) from holden ... or were they all after market? What colours were they painted out of the factory ... etc.

thanks fellas ...

I think (on the rare occassion) that there were 2 offered as an accessory an all orange and a orange with the black top BUT I am quit possibly wrong

Just remember it is only a bypass style filter so only about 10% of the oil is filtered this is one of the reasons why you should change the oil on a grey more regularly than a later engine

There were three available.

Ryco, Fram and the NASCO ones.

From memory the Fram ones were orange with a black top. Can't remember the other colours but think the NASCO ones were a silver sort of colour ( based on the one I have here ).

It would be good if we could catelogue these sort of things ... cause as we're talking about something that was produced 50 years ago, a lot of the time peoples recollection can be a bit hazy ....

I've got one here that is Orange all over, with a black nut on top, and black mounting bracket (but no saying that these are the original colours). It doesnt appear to have any markings on it either, so I've got no idea what make it is really .... I'll get some pics of it and post them ....

FB Mad, do any of x3 you mentioned have markings on them to identify them ? ...

Jimmy - would love to see these stickers you mention ;)

Cheers

Someone told me that one of the tractor filter cartridges would fit but can't remember which one??..... maybe the old grey Ferguson tractors??

The Ryco filter cartridges are still available from RYCO and still orderable via REPCO.
