This is my other EK,an NZ assembled wagon. Only one family owner who sold it to a panel-beater who done not much before losing interest. He had bought a load of parts off me when he purchased it. About a year later, he asked if i wanted to buy it. I declined as i wanted to make progress on my first wagon. Another year passed when he rung me up and said "Come and take it away" so i got the car and all my parts back, however, I paid him for the new tyres as he said he wanted the wheels.

Yeah, Im keeping it original. I started by pulling the engine and box and fixed a bit of rust in the subframe then painted the engine bay and motor,etc then put it back together.Next I tackled the interior then reassembled etc.Thirdly was the exterior, one panel at a time. I have given each panel one coat of laquer untill i have the whole car together then will squirt the lot. The colour is Snowcrest with my own mix of blue for the roof.

He said he needed an HQ or similar so he could tow his wifes horse float. The worst part of this car was stripping the paint. It had thick plastic type paint over the original blue, which clogged sand paper or melted and stunk when you used a stripping disc on it.

actually now that ive looked closer, thats an even nicer drivers seat you have there , i might have to upgrade from a milkcrate to one of those

Yes ,you have to be very careful giving it a bit of throttle and not letting the clutch out to fast or you end up on your back.Those stools are bloody handy for the shed. Just the right height.
