I'm doing the floor in my ek, it's in really good nic and hasn't been repaired before. So far I have wire brushed the floor, prepsol'd and used K+H Rust convert and primer.

There are a few little holes (ranging from pinhead to 10 cent piece), not enough to weld in new pans, and they are few and far between. There are 2 holes about inch by half inch but I'll have to tack in a couple of pieces for them I'm thinking?

The question:

What should I fill these over with prior to giving it a heaps of thin deadener coats?

I promise I'll pull my finger out and get some pics on soon....

Make sure you cut the rust out completely if you want a long term repair-cut well away from the holes to get to solid metal then weld around the full perimeter of the repair. Anything else will come back to bite you pretty quick!

weld the holes up then grind them off flat.

maybe try Por15
welding is my first choice but
they do a putty that dries like steel , might be ok on small holes

What I did was weld in some patches.
As previously said, make sure you cut out all the rust first.
Then fiberglass or Metal tech over the top.

I wouldn't use body filler as it's not a visible area, and it's more likely to rust again, especially if not done properly.

Body filler attracts moisture but fiberglass and Metal tech are both waterproof when cured.

Just my investigation to date.

I'm confident that all the rust has been neutralized with the k+h converter, it'll just be a matter of filling the holes properly as you have said. I might investigate some of the mentioned products more....... cutting and welding looks inevitable whichever way I go though.
