Did EK/FB Come With Seatbelts From Factory?

As above, a mate brought up the other day that my EK wouldn't of had seatbelts from factory, seeing as a mate of ours has an EJ sedan that doesn't have them at all..

But mine has the holes in the pillars, would they be factory or aftermarket?

Also, I know of the trick to welding a nut on the inside of the pillar so theres no bolt head on the outside, but are we allowed to run lap belts instead of a normal one?

No belts from factory, so you holes would be an after thought.
If you have a standard car I would imagine you could run lap belts (better than nothing), Trev 8) .

Weren't they a dealer fitted option on some cars?

I'm sure the Jackson's Seagull/Cathay grey FB has dealer fitted belts front and back

Don't really know myself really but would be interested to know ??.

My oldies bought a brand new 1968 Volkswagon Beetle that had factory fitted front seat belts but none in the back and I remember dad saying that the law back then ( in NSW ) was that it was only required by law to have front seat belts in cars in '68.

Interesting that there was a law in NSW, but that still means that mine may have been an afterthought.

I wanted the car to be fairly period, and lap belts help give that old timey feeling

Yep, lap belts are the "period" ones if that the look you are after.
