Creaking Noise From Rear End

Post by Cal »

The car's rear end, that is 8)

It's been doing it recently, mainly on take off and sometimes after a gear change when power is applied. Seems to be coming from the left rear.

Best way to describe it is the sound an axle makes when it snaps. It goes on for about a second. Odd thing is, once underway there is no noise, nor does it do it when I back on and off the gas. It doesnt seem suspension related, coz if I bounce the car up and down or sidways it's silent

It did start when I drove through some deep puddles a few weeks back when I got caught in a downpour..not sure if that has anyting to do with it :?

Cal I fitted a set of 38mm lowering blocks on the rear and I now have the noise you are describing it is definatly the top rubbers of your rear shockies they have changed position either by the leaf springs shifting or check that a leaf hasn't broken.
