The fires are easy to explain ...but first ...WHAT IS THE THING THAT THOSE STEEL BALLS GET FIRED FROM?? & DO YOU THINK THAT MANY SHOTS FIRED OUT OF 'EM USING GUNPOWDER THAT MAKES A WHOLE HEAP OF HEAT? HHMMM??? AND WHAT WOULD A STEEL BALL THATS BEEN HEATED UP DO TO TIMBER???

Scotty, Never had the opportunity to catch a canon ball thats been fired from a canon, to warrant whether the ball actually gets hot enough to start fires.
