Just wondering if anyone has managed to fit 17 inch rotors onto a hr disk front end. Is it possible or is there going to be more work than some other setup.

you mean rotors that wil require a 17" rim to clear the caliper I assume ?

yeah sure do. 17'' disks and rotors, as i already have the brakes all round of a vb commondore.

Only problem is, you may not find a wheel with offset to clear your guards.
There's nothing as Sweet as a EK V8
