I have purchased an EK with 186, discs and belts, as my daughters weekend driver.

It was modified in 1999 and previously registered in Victoria with an engineers report (i have a copy).
To register the car in Qld it needs to be inspected by an authorised engineer and a blue mod plate fitted.

I am looking for contacts of who can do this??

you don't need a blue plate if it was previously registered with that engine etc.

You need to call Vehicle Standards (part of Queensland Transport)(the guys there know what they're on about) and fax them a copy of the engineers reports and previous rego details and it can be registered in Queensland.
You only need a blue plate fitted if the mods were completed in Queensland, in this case.

Theo - thanks for the number of the engineer, I spoke to him and he seems quite good.

go_rat. - thanks for your advice - I rang Qld Vehicle Standards and Safety with a good result of reciprocal agreements - you are absolutely correct.

I now only have to send in the previous Victorian engineers report, along with previous Victorian registration details, and Qld Vehicle Standards will, after perusal, send me a letter of modification acceptance. excellent No cost/fee ! - even better.

It is good to see the states all working as one, we are after all living in Australia and not different countries. It's not always seen that way..
