Well this is my 1961 EK. We got the car about 8 years ago and we where driving it on the road for 2 years, then when we got a new car we stored the EK out in the weather and for sure the weather has taken it's toll so now it's sits under a car port. It only has heaps and heaps or surface rust and some very very bodgy bogg jobs. It has 22 893 miles on it and yet the engine still looks like it has done 100000 miles. Here are a few pics of what the cr looks like now.

i imagine the engine has done a lot more than 100000 miles, that odd has probably been round a few times....

you should list your full plans here...

Hi SPL, looks to be an original Twilight Turquoise. Please put up a pic of the ID plate if you can.

Love the white trim with green inserts.

lol yeah i was thinking 122000miles. Here are my plans

Buy 202 red motor from ebay $102.50 so far
Re-cond red motor
Hr front end with ventilated disc brakes
HR diff with drum brakes
Re-cond the gear box (3 speed manual off grey motor)
re-spray in baby blue with 2 white strips down the middle
some 19" chomes
re-chrome all the chrome pannels
re-trimmed seats
Fix up all the rust and fix bogged over pannels
install under body LED'S
full SPL stereo install (around 3200WRMS)
modify the 202 motor
add a red airfilter that sticks out of the bonnet.

Hi SPL, Twilight is more so on an EK 585-9932 than an FB 585-9931. I think twilight in this era is the only colour to get two different paint numbers.

Rare colours: any original factory finish is a rare colour these days! Though some colour on paint tags are much less common than others.

If you are going to re-trim the seats and the ones picture are in good condition, I would like to buy those and give you an old set of seats you could recover.

lol i will get a picture up of the ID plate tommorrow, also if you don't think the seats need re-triming then you have saved me heaps of money.

also the paint has some like creamy looking under coat, is this normal or does that mean that is has been re-sprayed many years ago?

Also did i leave anything out in my plans ? lol

Not such a good idea! Even the EH non synchro boxes don't take much punishment! Look at an all synchro 3 speed if anything. Some mods will be needed to the crossmember though.

Looks like a good solid enough start.

Well today i picked up the motor from the guy, very nice guy too. He told me the motor has only done around 90 000 and has never ticked over once. He told me to get a high tourque starter and a 55A/H alt. But i would like to get a bigger alt as i want to run a few things stereo etc....

Here are some pics
