Grey motor paint

Post by FB1960 »

Can anyone suggest where to get engine grey paint to match the original grey or is does it need to be colour matched and sprayed
Preferably available in Perth
Thanks in advance

The official colour is Dulux 393-10367 (pre 1975 Dulux colour chart) - from a good auto paint supplier or Power Plus PP427 in a spray can.
Having said that the factory colour varied considerably depending on the days left over paint to mix for the engine, could've been light, dark or anywhere in between, so you may need to spray the whole engine, plus the present colour may be faded anyway, if you're real fussy take a chip of paint & get it computer colour matched.
The only reason for time is so everything dosen't happen at once.
