okay trying to be clear as i can here ... i'm trying to find out what kinda seatbelts i can use and still meet victorian safety standards ? i called vic roads and found out that i can legally use lap belts in the ute ( it currently has no belts and never has ) .. i can get away with registering the vehicle without installing any belts at all but i want belts .
i've looked at the wesco performance website from the usa and like the kinda belts they have in the industrial / racing style with the lift lever release latch or the quick release latch lever .. has anyone used these styled belts in there car and met vic standards .. keen as candy to hear from anyone who has or can help here .

I heard somewhere once that lap-belts are designed to hold the body in the car so the cops don't have to go looking for the body after the crash
If you are going to fit belts (and god forbid ever need to use them) fit the lap-sash style. If you can get hold of the period buckles etc there are place that can fit new webbing for you.

I'II second that stinky! I used to be a firey (many moons ago) and the lap belt keeps you in the car alright.... but it doesn't stop your head from belting the "pissin' pick handles" out of the dash and steering wheel!!

dan-0, go the lap/sash mate, I'm using retractable units from an SS crumbledore in both our EK's.
