Hi. Just interested to find the following ID plate code details for an EK special sedan.
Trim 542-968..................... "Valley and Kentucky Green" ??????
Paint 585-025..................... A pale green colour if that helps
The body is number EK 225 1737 S so it looks like an early Sydney production special.
Any help appreciated
Terry.

Terry,
I have a list of all colours for body colours from 1960 to 1962, courtesy of the FB-EK Car Club of NSW.
The three digit prefix identifies the type of paint, e.g. 585 is DULON Acrylic Lacquer. The three digit number should be followed by a four digit colour identifier (not three as you've quoted). I've found a colour called Valetta Green, used on 1961 models, which has a colour ID of 585 - 0250 (rather than 025) which could be the colour you are looking at.
As far as trim colours goes once again a four digit number is used as the colour identifier (I'm not sure what the three digit prefix indicates regarding trim). The only green trims I can find used in 1961 models are Grampian Green (0268) and Oriental Green (9956).
If you visit the FB-EK Car Club of NSW website (www.geocities.com/fbeknsw) you should find the list there.
Hope this information points you in the right direction.

Thanks Hayden. I forgot that the NSW club had the colour codes on their site(thanks NSW club) but I don't regularly visit it as it's painfully slow on dial-up internet (Telstra won't give us Broadband in the bush)and the NSW site loads with errors all the time for me.
I've bought the car sight unseen and havn't picked it up as yet. I got the codes from the fellow who I'm buying it over the net so maybe he didn't see the last digits on the paint codes and trim codes and I posted them up as he gave them to me.
Again thanks for the responce Hayden...cheers, Terry.
