I just happen to be in the middle of swapping a crash box for another crash box with a bit less crash in it so am able to give you some measurements if that helps.

Original crash box length is approx 22 3/4 inches from bellhousing to extension shaft housing end.

6 cyl Traumatic is approx 26 inches from bellhousing to extension shaft housing end.

Difference being traumatic is 3 1/4 inch longer than crash box.

Original SEDAN tailshaft length from centre of uni joint to centre of uni joint is approx 53 inches.

In theory you need a shaft that is around 49 3/4 inches long ( measured from centre of uni's) or thereabouts ( if my measuring ability is correct).

Trev's running traumatic and 186 in his sedan, he may be able to help with exact tailshaft measurements in his car ( sedan ).

I've got a feeling someone said an LC/LJ Torana tailshaft is near enough to the right length?? :? :? :? for traumatic conversion.

My memory is pretty crap, but I do remember being told Torana just can't remember if it was LC/LJ. Pretty sure it was......... :?
