half moon ss headlight shields _ SORTED!

Post by artyfartymarty »

i feel like a real dick asking about this but i cant work this out...

how do you install the headlight shields?

I have removed the chrome ring around the headlight and installed the half shield but cannot relocate the chrome surround with the shield as the screws are now too short and dont reach the headlight base. The chrome light surround sticks out a few mil to accomodate the shield.

Do i need longer screws or have i got it all wrong? :?

my shields wouldnt fit as my headlights have been updated and are now flat units. I had to make up 4 small brackets that go from the head light screws to the mounting holes for the shields.

If you want pics I can take some tonight to show what I mean.

On my FC and EK I think I just had to use a bit more force than normal and they went on... Not running any now.

OK Sorted it out, i did need longer screws.
If anyone else is doing this, you will need to replace the chrome light surround screws with 6Gx9mm long srews, i used stainless c's i don't like rust. :D
