Does anyone have photos of the trim panels in the rear of a wagon, fitted and removed.

I have an FC wagon in the shop that had no trim panels at all.

From memory the side panels are in two pieces, with the front section as a long panel and the rear short and curved.
Does the rear piece overlap the front, and is screwed in place????

Thanks for that.

Interesting to see them in one piece, my memory must be wrong about the two pieces.

Has been a long time since I have looked in the back of a wagon.

Hi Paul,

most I've seen have been two pieces. I might have a pic somewhere around here...

Steve Jacksons original EK standard wagon would be a good candidate to check out the trim...not sure if Steve is about at the moment though...

regards
Stewart

Played treasure hunt through a couple of box's of bits with the wagon.

In the bottom of one was the remains of one of the rear cargo area trims, the longer one.

After putting it together with masking tape, I used it as a pattern to make two new ones. The pasengers side is slightly different.
The smaller end sections were worked out by making cardboard patterns till they fitted and could be put in place and removed.

Light gauge metal versions were then made and swept to shape.

I am still interested in seeing the factory made pieces.

One more question.
Has anyone got a photo of the tailgate inner panel.

Thanks for that, explains the holes around the edge.
The others?

Will possibly make a trim panel for this area.

It is so hard to work out at time what previous owners have done with their cars, when there are holes drilled and nothing is screwed into them.

On this wagon, below the LHR window on the inside. Is a row of possibly six holes spaced out from the rear seat to the tail gate. But the other side of the car dosent have them?

on my old tailgate, forst time i pulled the trim off it was grey vynil, from the factory, it has just glued down with no card straight to the metal with the metal strips around the edge holding it on.
i replaced it with one i made on mdf in capri white vynil. trick that i never got right was getting it exact shape and the metal strips to sit flat with the screws done up, maybe next time ill use thin masonite or thinner mdf

i would say a trim was cactus and kept falling of so someone went nuts with the drill, mine has a couple unevenly drilled on each side wichdoesnt look factory, when i bought it 13 years ago it had home made tin side panels.
