acrylic laquer, enamel?

i've been looking around at what paint to use to paint my ek, i have decided on acrylic but i can't figure out the difference between acrylic laquer and acrylic enamel, can anyone help?
also does anyone know if house of kolor use acrylic?

i dont like enamel,, did a celica in it once and was real slow drying

I had a play with once too, Karsten.......same result - ok if you got an oven to bake it in (not in the kitchen)

I like acrilic lacqer because you can work it later on - but if you go metalic or pearl it can be a bit of an issue when you come to fixing up any damage.
the clear coat has to go over the top and trying to match the base and the clear coat again usually always shows up where you've been working.

I hope I'm not being a spoil sport but acrylic enamel is 2 pack and we all know what that means!

Ahhh Enamel.

I remember when I first used enamel, with totally no experience and help. Painted the car, bewdiful...lovely shine straight off the gun...nice and full... no peel, no bugs.


Hour later...........paint was on the floor, Couldn't believe it. Ran like no tomorrow. :shock: :oops: :lol:

Can't recall using it again.

Matches, acrylic laquer is best. :D :D

Enamal can be a pain. :shock:

thanks finny, i'm thinking that by the comments. especially about coming back to the car to find the paint on the ground :shock: :(
