thanks a heap for the pics dave. ive had the ek for a while but just built a new running gear for it as the worn old 307 wasnt cutting it. the engine is a fairly wild 383chev stroker which now puts out some decent power and is backed by a t-350 trans with a 3600stall and shortened 9inch to fit 15x12s on the rear.

if you want build pics contact the townsends from glen innes, it was built by them as a 4 door with the tubs done and a small block turbo 350, they sold it and the new owner then paid them to do a 2 door conversion, then a guy in sydney end up with it, then i think it went newcastle way that's where the murals were added, and now ekcoupe has it there prolly has been some other owners in between, but these are the ones i know of, i actually nearly bought it a couple of times once of peter townsend as a 4 door and once off the fella that owned it in sydney before it got muralled

yeah i bought it in newcastle when i was on holidays. i only went for a holiday but ended up coming back with the ek cos the deal was to good to pass up, good old divorces  .the running gear was fairly shagged but still good enough to get me by until i built this new running gear. plans for the next month or so include new detroit locker, floating axle set up, disc brake rear, and so on. will update new pics as work progresses.

it could very well be the original motor that peter townsend put in it as it was a 307, so yes it would have been showing it's age

I have seen that car in the flesh, fantastic air brushing of the graveyard, would hate to have to touch that one up.

I think the designer was a Sydney Swans or Roosters fan, looking at that sweeping double arch design on the mural.
Very classy and the look works for me.

Regards John
