Slow cranking grey

Jumped in my ute the other day found it difficult to start.Checked usual things
a} Battery? test ok
b}Battery leads and terminals? seems ok
c}Starter motor? ok
d}Check dipstick?Oil milky colour ,check radiator?No water oh no looks like head gasket,decided to check welsh plugs behind side plate first and sure enough

at least I checked this before taking the head off!
