Panels on or off

Post by skot »

Hi,
It would appear that many of you have done your own rebuilds and i have been rebuilding my ek that i have had for about 10 years now and i thought i would ask you all Which would be the better way to spray a ek. With the doors and panels back on the car or is it just as easy to spray them off the car. Sounds like a silly question but i thought that you all would have a better idea if you have been there and done that. I fear scratching. thanks for your time skot.

Considering you have to take the doors off to put the rubbers on properly, you would be better off leaving them off to paint.

When it comes to assembly time many hands and masking tape will limit scratching or chips.....

Doors off if you want a proper job.Spray all the door jambs, door insides and edges of the doors.Reassemble the doors then spray the outside. If you spray all your parts seperatly then reassemble the car your panels can end up being a slightly different shade.
