I have always known that there was a knob and cable going from the air control lever in my dash somewhere into the dark abyss of my dash. Tonight, for the first time ever I gave the lever a shove and to my suprise it moved with a promising resistance. My question is, what does it do? Does it allow air into the cabin space from the plenum or something?

if we are talking about the same thing it is just a vent...

allows air in from outside, its sort of an early basic form as 'newer' cars have with the little car icon showing an arrow going from outside the car in....

always foung the one in the 'g' excellent in summer when driving without shoes....
