Leaking Heater Tap

has anyone got a fix for a leaky heater tap on a warmaride heater?
i dont want to fit a aftermarket unit if the one i have can be repaired.
perhaps you have an answer for me rosco?

Hi speak to Roger Handcock from our club he can fixed them up for you. Has done a few for me.

Hey Bebop
Lapping paste may be the answer :wink:
Pull it apart, apply paste and lapp it in like valves in a head.
You will see by the wear marks where its not seating initially,
then keep going until it cleans up.

thanks jeff and tony for the advice. i called reidy today and he tells me you can buy repair kits from rare spares. im going there tommorrow and i will see how i go

well, i went to rares and got myself a repair kit. it consists of a flat seal for the top and a closing seal for inside the tap, took a while to dismantle and re-assemble and it works really well. if anyone needs a kit the part number is: RSP 335 the description is: KIT VALVE RANCO HEATER

Brilliant! methinks the tee valve I've been using for the last 7 years may now be due for retirement :D
