Finally here she is (Casey the Wedgewood Wagon) YAY!

Post by lulu »

Wow ok where do I start. Our Baby is home safe and sound after being driven in rain, late at night 6hrs (normally 4.5hrs) from Sydney to here..near Kemspey.
1961 EK Special Station Sedan
Hydromatic
Grey Motor
Original Radio (plus newish one)
Heater
Coolaride Visor
Spats (to be fitted)
Spare rims
Drivers Weather Shield
Tow Bar & Air Shocks
Pretty Tidy interior..just very minor rip or two
Chrome good all round & only rear bumper middle section with pitting
Needs small amount of rust done in a couple of area's & resprayed
Code says Strata Blue but was resprayed 4years ago & looks like Wedgewood???

Has been a city car for many years & Hubby blew out all the cobwebs on the highway..went like a dream!
VERY Happy with Casey and actually feels like you're driving a real car..if you know what I mean.

Anyway here she is, hope you guys like her :D
Cheers
Lulu

Would love the Bonnet Bird/Emblem..you can just make out it was once there, plus Venetians but rust & re-spray is first priority.
Has 11months rego too, which is great!

Ben..ta :)

She is my everyday car PLUS tow car for our 60's caravan. Did some pics of it in the other post in the "Cars Wanted" section but here's the colours of the annex & intend to spray the van white and the same blue..match it up.

Another beautiful light blue wagon combo. They are becoming the most common car on here. There i was thinking i would have something a little different :D :D :D :D :D :D

Ratbox is right, it looks like the rust isn't too bad. I would be driving it for a while. I drove mine back from SA when i got it from SCK, it's been getting done ever since. Can't wait to drive it. ENJOY.

Don't do anything, just drive and enjoy.
Pull it off the road to do stuff, it can go from one thing to another and it's off the road for ages, Trev 8)

Ratbox :) There is a bit of rust but was expecting that, no worries there nothing too major thankfully. Dad went and checked it out for us before we bought it. Gave it a good going over. He used to have an EK when I was little and knew where to check for it all. Told us the good the bad and the ugly but said it's the best one yet, we've looked at. Easy to work with Dad told us. What a relief that was to hear.

Lychpin...Yep I noticed recently the colour combo is common. Looks great & would be nice to keep it the same. I had a feeling we'd end up with a blue one. I once saw a beautiful yellow and white (inside & out) combo, just on a sedan though and feel in love. I like colours that make the chrome pop/stand out. It just passes that test with the blue, so the blue will stay.

SunnyTim...To be honest I haven't checked all the gears myself yet as only drove it for 20mins just the once as was almost dark. Plus has been rainy and foggy up here today & yesterday..really poor weather to learn to drive an oldie in. I was too busy adjusting to driving an old car, the steering I was trying to hold steady and the brakes are drum, so was trying to basically get to know my girl and relax and not run over anyone..hehehe
As for the Strata Blue...damn as "The Wedgewood Wagon" sounds so much better  Our friend noticed straight away the paint being blue in the corners behind the grill. He said "Hey they're meant to be black, it's a re-spray alright" but he has a trained eye being a panel beater/sprayer and EK man..his is beautiful!!! The main reason I think we agreed on the rust first was so I'll still have my scooter to get me around on, while rust and spray is being done. The scooter will be gone in September as a 16th B/Day gift. So not to be stuck at home with no car, we were planning on getting it done while the scooter is still here (if our friend is available to do it for us before then), so that's the main reason basically, plus peace of mind it's taken care of.
Yamba...Hoping to get there Yes..fingers crossed. Always wanted to go to the Nationals. Can meet everyone and get some tips/idea's for Casey maybe..plus drool at the EK's of course, that's the best part.

Stewart... :P Yes, the van & car combo will be great. The van resto can go ahead again finally, now we have the car/colour to match it. I especially love the fold down back bench seat (camper seat?) for the girls..our dogs, as I didn't want them jumping around on the upolstery, so they can in the back part without wreaking anything. Plus still room for luggage too. They won't be in the EK very much but when they are, at least Casey won't get destroyed. Dogs get so excitable going in the car. They like a drive more than a walk!!!

Bex....Hey, you're almost right with the Boston comment. They are very similar and everyone thinks they're Bostons or a Pug cross because the breed (French Bulldog) is a bit rare in Oz & not many people know about them or have them. Basically the same except shorter legs, stockier body & mellow personality..well except for Ebony the one in the pics, she's a nutter (childhood issues), not a classic mellow funny Frenchie. We adopted both of them.
Are you looking to get a Boston at some stage are you? 8)

Trev...oh for sure, how could anyone not enjoy them..hehe well except for my Mother In Law, she hates classic cars..pfft

STINGRAY..Hey..what colour is your Wagon..it's georgeous!!!!

Nice one STINGRAY...she's a beauty!
I really like having the visor on Casey, EK/FB's look great with the visor on, don't they?
Still can't believe I finally have one. Feel very lucky to have found her :P
