Just reading some of the other comments on engnes and the numbers used for the different models. I'm now unsure what engine my car actually has in it, and if it's the original.
The engine number starts with a "J" it's "J149457". Is that what the EK's had? Is it a 138 ? What's it out of ?

Whilst we're on the subject of engine numbers - I'll put up my request again.
Does anyone have B210600 - its my original - Repco got it in 1975 and I would like it returned..................
Won't give up Trev - it didn't - just blew some seals and my father suggested a changeover..................hasn't been the same care since - experience can be a harsh teacher.............
Can't do that Trev - it won't be the original........... I have pix of it and the various knocks and chips - I'd be able to recognise it - know how some of 'em got done...... I was young and a big hammer got things done quicker than tapping with a small one............
Does anyone know what numbers were used in the Sydney plant started with when switching to the EK's, I know above the general number was B175814, but was that in Sydney, or Melbourne etc,
also as a sideline, how many engines were they using a month, is it possible, does anyone have the information, to pinpoint a rough month of production for the engine to body numbers??
