Anyone running gas

Post by ben »

Thinking of converting the wagon to gas, and wondering if anyone has any cons to the idea. I believe you can get a donut tank? that will fit where the original tank sits. I had the head done to run on unleaded/gas, but i keep hearing storys of hassles with gas conversions.

Any feedback appreciated

Gday Ben,

We recently converted our Carby petrol Land Cruiser to gas and we can't complain at all. It runs well, and only cost $300 after the rebates of $3000. I hear that one of the components to the rebate is about to go, can't remember if it is the fiscal federal or state rebate, so if your going to get it done, book it in quick smart :)

I heard that Andrew. It was Tony at olden parts that told me about this donut tank. Would like to see one before i make any decisions and be sure the spare wheel will still fit

I have seen the donut tanks. They look quite small and compact. I dont think you would still fit a spare wheel in though, thats assuming you intended to put them in the same wheel well of like a xb tank.

Thanks Malcolm that solves my decision. Looks like I'm going to have to take the tank out and treat it with this POR tank kit i bought a while back.
The "boss" ran out of petrol today, and gave me the hard word to sort out the tank, so i was looking for the easy option.
