You dont need one to put a red 6 into an EK - but if you want to make one anyway PM me your email address.

Seems the new owners are slowly deconstructing the rod shop...

I'm surprised to here that, the last time I was there they told me they wanted to get it back to the state it was in when Rod sold it, even going as far as getting Rod involved in some way, Trev 8)

The best thing they could do is start making stuff that fits and is well designed   That might help.
At least since Rod left you dont get spoken to like you are a moron so thats a positive.

Also maybe they should take some of Rod's advice and open on a Saturday, as he put it "it was my busiest day"......and they're shut. Maybe it's changed now, but that was a few months or so back.

Still it could be worse, no one could have bought it and then what?

what is the point in having all that shit there to be closed on the weekend?

the amount of times i have taken the afternoon off work to go like a bat out of hell to make it there before closing, you just dont get the time to appreciate it.

at least ppl might be happier about paying the sky rocketing prices if they had time to enjoy the place.

it really is quite pretty out there.

hmm i had a conversation with an engineer yesterday and he wants to drill holes on my hadfield chassis to check metal thickness, his words where the engineering cert that comes with the chassis is useless he also commented that Rod no longer owned the place not sure if that was a comment about current owners ?

to be honest im not sure if the chassis was needed but i was already fitters after all im only running a std 186 .. but hey i can only improve things and to be honesty to see how they are made one could manufacture one them selves for a few hundred ..

Sure is, my folks are not even 5 mins down the road from the rod shop.
Dad moved up there when he retired.

tell your engineer to go get $*#@...... there are plenty of ways to check steel thickness without doing destructive tests on it..... damn they have portable machines (about the same size as a sony psp) that will give you steel thickness/density and how thick the paint is on it..... some welding inspectors will have these machines

Whats wrong with using one of the holes thats already in it? Drop the tailshaft catcher out and measure there  bloody engineers.

When I took my EK to the engineers with a Hadfield front end in it he wasnt very impressed with the kit - I had to make a couple of changes to it before he would pass it - had to fit crush tubes in the rails and fab a brace to replace the bit cut out when opening up the transmission tunnel.
He didnt like the amount of bump steer in the front either.
