Spotted this the other day at a Marina in Tauranga. Looked in
in pretty good nick for a vehicle that is left by the sea. Great
to see another one still on the road over here, which is not
very common at all :? Apart from a couple of minor things it
looked original, but I was wondering if factory FB's came out
in the one colour?

EKDAZ you may know this vehicle??

Its funny how most of the photos of FB EKs are single tone in NZ. Its makes me wonder if thats how we sent them. In some early FB export photos the FBs were painted up like EKs single body colour with white roof not painted through the flash. single tone FB and EKs are uncommon here. If you ever get the chance start looking at the paint codes at where it says 'Paint, Insert and Top'. Am curious whether they came out like that over there. 8) 8)

Hi all,yes this car belongs to an older gent who has owned this car for a long time,I think he used to own a service station and remember the car parked outside it quite often. This car has not changed in 20 years at least since i,ve known it. I have seen a lot of single coloured FBs and EKs over here and also have noted that the NZ assembled EK,s have a poorer quality paint job and quality of paint compared with the aussie assembled cars with their ''Magic Mirror" paints.Getting back to the FB's tho,i just picked up a NZ assembled standard which was pale blue with a white roof.Unfortunatley the NZ assy cars body tags just give a body number and thats all so pretty hard to find out original colours and trims.

Getting back to this FB ,I was driving thru town in my EH when this car came toward me so i done a u-ee and followed him to his house and found out a bit more about this car. It was assembled in Sydney and sold new by Leach (??) in Brisbane. The owner claims that it has been re-painted in its original colour. It was shipped to nz on the UNION ROTO-ITI, for the price of $500.00 and has been maintained to the highest standard since he has owned it.In his own words " When i fall over for the last time, the car will be given to his son" in Coomera near Surfers.
