Bit of background on the car, it was owned by the one lady owner for the past 44 years i bought at xmas time for a present for myself. The car has been sitting in the ladys garage for 14 years and she turned occasionaly up untill about 10 years ago. The car was covered in blankets so it has a bit of sweat marks on the front doors, it has tiny bit of rust but only surface at this stage. The lady cared for it like a baby and was so upset to see it go that she wouldnt even come outside when i piscked it up. She sold it to me on one condition that i wouldnt do anything to it that wasnt original and that is exactly what i plan on doing bringing the old girl back to mint condition.
I hope to get the engine running smoothly then get her resprayed and chromed and gradually renew everything on it. Then drive it occasionaly to meets and so fourth. I cant wait!!!!!!
Welcome Mypamela, looks like a real good starting point for a resto! Actually it look half way to being finished, sure is in great condition for its age. Keep us updated and you never know we may even cross paths...

Great car !!! Sounds like it has a pretty lucky history !! Should go snap a picture of the previous owner beside the car and throw it up in the garage.

Yep i was pretty excited when i walked into the Lady's garage and saw Pamela. I plan to appreciate her and nurture her.
I spoke with someone from the Club at the RACV rally at morninton a couple of weeks ago, very helpful lady but her name escapes me.
The name was given to the car by the lady that owned her before me and she even had a little badge made up with the name Pamela.
Im in the process of trying to get the original number plates back, as the lady handed them in when she let the Rego go.
I will definatly be asking plenty of questions as i am fairly new to restoring cars, such as where to get a decent paint job and possibly some interior work done in melbourne.
Im hoping to get along to the club nights at some stage.
I am familiar with old holdens and my dad is even more familiar. I used to have a lx torana and my dad had a number of old holdens including a car that he now wishes he still had Hk Monaro, He still has the original steering wheel but thats about all.
Ditto whats been said above. Great idea Retro in taking the previous owners for spin and get some pics...
Also see if you can get any copies of pictures of the car the previous owner may have to flesh out the history of the car.
Also before jumping in to 'restore' the car have a serious think about the real need to respray it...maybe a cut and polish would do the trick and get the rust tidied up. It will be lighter on the wallet, less time off the road and if the plan is to keep the car original then you can't beat original paint...

Welcome to the forum , VERY nice rig you have there, when I dragged my FB ute out of the shed it sat in for 17 years the old lady (original owners daughter) was crying like a baby because her dads car was leaving the family. First thing when the car is roadworthy is to take the old girl for a spin in her Dads ute.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.
