Why go to the trouble of fitting those when you can buy a proper narrow whitewall tyre ??

i already have new tyres on the rims and
im not going to buy 4 more new tyres when
i can just buy flappers at a fraction of the cost

EK JAY, I have six of those flappers, But wait for it, They are 14" only. Sorry, These I've had for quite some time. I think SCK was interested a while back, but slack arse ME didn't upload a pic. I still have 'em if SCK's still looking.
Sorry for getting your hopes up Jay.
Cheers Theo Z.....................

dont tell him that bill thats just wrong 8)
ive heard of it voiding insurance aswell :(
as it apparently weekens the walls could be a old wives tale
but would you want to take the chance
aswell as the oils n such in the tyres will seep through the white turning it black again and would need to be redone

A good solid brand of flapper will wear a groove in the sidewall over time that I think is far worse than grazing off an edge to run the paint to  Its only 1mm or so .
But as you say - try explaining logic to an insurance company
