At some stage in it's life my FB had "Trico" windscreen washers fitted. I've still got the bracket and glass jar that sits on the driver's side of the engine bay, there is also a hose disappearing through the firewall which is attached to the 'squirters'.

So can anyone shed some light on how the pump is supposed to work? Is it supposed to attach to the two nozzles that are on the back of the wiper switch? Or do I need to connect the vacuum hose to a foot pump type set up?

There is only one hose attached to back of the wiper switch which has been blocked off at some point with a screw in the end.

Any advice will be most appreciated.

this is going to be one line from me - haven't got a clue, but know some wiper arm pivot covers have washer jets.

Thanks Rosco, I'll see how I go. In the mean time I have dismantled a spare switch I have here. It has a spring/plunger set-up in it which works off the button in the centre if the switch knob.

It appears this assembly is originally intended as the washer pump switch and run off the vacuum line on the wiper motor - hence the two nozzles that run off the back of the switch. Which means one hose from the back of the switch to the wiper motor vacuum line, and one from the back of the switch to the glass jar. The button then acting the same as the slide switch on the wiper motor.

I might get it to work one day!
