yeah it has a varijet II on it, i have nothing opening the choke so it gets reall bad once it warms up, backing it into the garage nearly knocks you out when its warm, i am pissing that of, it was just on there to run in te cam but that didnt work out well and i ran the cam in in 4 goes, i will now put a sc14 supercharger on to run it in then i have a m90 to go on

the motor is a 179 with 3.3 efi crank, rods & head, that way i almost have a 3.3 but dont have to run any pollution control.
the block is line bored, bored, decked and o ringed, acl race series bearings & dished race series pistons, custom copper head gasket, adjustable straight cut timing gears, crank is machined to fit the 179 HP block, head is cc'd i think 68cc, it has o/s pep pro valves and big ports, yt 5008 rockers, yt guide plates, manley pushrods, solid lifters, ross balancer, custom blower cam from camtech, jp pump, crane hi6 trc ignition, arp studs & bolts everywere internal, 2800 rpm stall convertor & trimatic, hurst shifter, exhuast is 2.5" with a 12" long straight through muffler then splits into two just over the diff
diff is HR banjo

Etherything i could get new is, i am going to do the interior at home in capri white vynil with capri gold FX vynil inserts in a fairly traditional style, i have a quad canted headlight front with 58 edsel headlights, tail lights are frenched, door handles gone etc etc
steering colum is ej auto, wheel is too.

G'day FCCOOL,

I have watched the rebuild of your wagon from day 1...Risky Shortcut to Jindabyne and Long Road to Mt Gambier...

What you have achieved, in the conditions you have endured is nothing short of a miracle...no garage, rain, cops, crazy neighbours, rust, eye infections, you caught on fire I recall? I could go on...

Your posts on the FE FC Forum have been educational, funny, tenacious, sometimes verging on madness but more than anything...awe inspiring.

Thanks for sharing...

regards
Stewart

ps the motor sounds hot! you must be stoked.

i love the dual exhusts, man stop tempting me to do crazy things to the old fb.

She sounds real tidy, but the smokes gotta come from the tyres not the exhust.

Post the completion pics when done, it looks like you have one soon to be tidy wagon coming up.

some of the smoke was oil from sitting around, most of it was the carb running way too rich, ive now taken the cigarette but out that was partially keeping the choke open and done a more professional job by using a cable tie to hold the choke open wich has just about got rid of all the smoke, i still havent completely got this varijet carb figured out, its still a bit rich and sometimes flooding even with the crane hi6 ignition.
i have the fuel pressure set at 3psi, maybe thats still to much for the varijet float. the varijet is only temporary till i get the supercharger on, one thing thats for sure is the good old holley was a lot more simple and easy to tune than this carb is.
here is a more recent photo taken on my phone in the early hours of the morning.

a mate helped strip a part of the roof, the kids did a bit of sanding on parts back when they were 4 and 6, my wife and uncle gave me a hand a few times to move the front around the garage, my wife helped with getting the rear side windows in and lifting the bonnet on, a couple of mates were there the night i first pulled out the motor, a guy in victoria chopped bit of a car out and posted it to me, westend performance did the machining on the motor and a mate loaned a bigger compressor.
the rest i did on my own in the driveway.

I reckon one of the best, if not the best custom holden to be built in Australia in a long time.

I have taken my hat off.
