FB Wagon Proj in SA - G'day!

Hi there everyone.
Im Paul, 28, and living on the beach side of the city in SA. I have an FB wagon i began to do some work on, but my landlords sold the house i was at, and i had to halt my work on the FB while i moved house. Now, after finaly regaining some of my enthusiasm again to get back into it after concerntrating heavily on my studies this year, ive finaly made a little room in the shed to work on it, and sorted out all the variopus bits of it i had taken off. Really looking forward to seeing it finished and back on the road again. I got bits of work to do on it all round, and i got a fiar idea how i want it to look when finished. I have a digcam so i can post pics of it as i progress. But i really wanted to join here to get some tips from others or ask some questions from those of you in the know and i guess just a little general help if needed if i come up to something that really has me stumped. You know these things do happen to the best of us at times.
Im not new to the whole Holden scene as i was raised in a Holden car club since birth. This is my father's car, soon to be mine (had to fight my brother for it) and depending on the age of the memebers here some of you might be able to make out the sticker in the back corner window, that is of now disbanded car club "Early Model Holden Car Club of SA." YES the are the original #plates on it. It still has the original green leather interior. Hard to tell but this once proud car had been taken to cambera for nationals and did recieve various awards for original car back in its hayday in the 80's. So you can imagine all the streetmachine shows and hot rod shows and show'n'shines i was dragged along to as a child. Not to mention club meets and events. Anyways its needing alot of attention to it, but that will have to wait a few years before i can get to it.

Anyways thats my Holden upbringing. And i guess i should now talk about the FB wagon of mine. Well here it is, white on dusty grey. Ive always preferd the FB, beucase of the extra colour'd panel down the side, just that little toutch of style and class. I love Extra bits of detail like that. As i said i starting begging the work to it, but had to stop, and going to be getting into it pretty strong, now studies are over for the year and i can concerntrate fully on the FB. There are certain areas of the car more than others that will require more attention and probably some replacement parts if i can find them. I guess thats one of the reasons im here to see if there any of these parts floating about the palce. Ebay is good, so are wrecking yards, but its not the end all when it comes to finding bits and pieces. I will post pics of the cars progress as it unfolds. So you can hopefully see it turn out how i picture it in my mind. It will be something a little different i hope. But stull retain that quality and class that the FB has always had. Not going to modify it much if at all, Keeping it mostly original, but with a bit of uniqueness too.

Anyways with trusty work shop manual in hand, i will ventrue forth to battle the challenge that awaits me in the shed. With love ofcourse. ha ha ha  .

Gday Paul
It looks like you have a bit of work in front of you.
Both cars seem to be in fairly good condition which will make the job easier.
Lucky you, to have your fathers ol FJ, that looks as though it would come up a treat 8)
The FB Wagon is a beauty to

Help is close by if its needed.
This forum is exellent for it 8)
And see you live at Findon, I'm around the corner, almost.
Also check out your local clubs
Cheers
Jeff

How can you people say that!
What is wrong with you all!!!

Kool Kars need Kolour!!!! To brighten up our lives!

Grey is not a colour. Slugs are grey! storm clouds are grey. old peoples hair is grey. Nothing happy or pretty is grey. :(
And Morning Grey? That just means crappy weather for the whole day, when you look out the window in the morning and the day looks all grey and overcast.
Only 1 grey i like and thats dark metalic executive grey, for a Lincoln. But thats only becuase its more closer to black than a grey.

I rest my case, your honor.

Hang on, did i just contradict myself? *sigh*

PS. (edit) except ofcourse for black, in any form, gloss, satin or flat. Black is always cool becuase night time is cool. And everything goes with black. White is also ok depending on the car ofcourse, and depending on the white too.
