Gearbox Crossmeber for Hydramatic

Post by strogger »

Can anyone please tell me if there is supposed to be a crossmember at the rear of a Hydramatic transmission?
I can see the flange and bolt holes on trans but nothing coresponding in car to facilitate crossmember fitment.

Also how much shaft should show from trans output to first uni?
Mine seems excessive at approx 3 inches.
(Never thought i'd say that. )

Thanks in advance.
