running twin carbs

just a bit of info needed :)
if im running twin carbs on a grey do i need to run the spacers between the base of the carby and the inlet manifold
think they are made of bakerlite?
what are they 4 anyway

There more than likely a thermal insulator which stops heat getting transferred to the fuel system via the carbs

Some companies also use them in similar fashion to that of a ram to fine tune the volumetric efficiency of a motor (something along those lines anyway)

As for can you use these carbs without them i would say yes if all linkages etc are clear from obstruction

I would look for someones opinion who actually owns set of these though as i have personally never seen a set as i'm only new to the old Holden fraternity
