over the last 2 weeks the missus and I drove from Coffs Harbour NSW to the Red Centre Nats in Alice Springs, it was a brilliant drive (all figures are ruffly correct) 7212Ks, 959L of fuel cost $1909, 100 mils of engine oil, and a litre of water but that was just topping up what came out the overflow i could have just left it, didn't open the tool box only time i opened the boot was to get the oil and camping gear out
off to a great start the Thursday before the Sunday we are supposed to leave

Impressive. I reckon a Tesla would chew more oil than that.
Cheers,

yeah i was pretty impressed, and a bit pissed off taking a bunch of tools 2 spare wheels 20 litres of water and not needing them, but guaranteed if i didn't have them i would have needed them
i forgot about driving it through a slightly flooded causeway probably up to the sills went in to fast and the engine stopped, luckily enough momentum to get me out the other side dunno what stopped it but it stopped instantly wouldn't restart i opened the bonnet had a look around at all the water dripping/running off everything jumped back in and it started so off i went again

Great story Mick, you’ve done some pretty good FB/EKs over the years and I had the good fortune to own one of them, the 308 ute. A cracker of a car I still have the picture from the Sydney Morning Herald weekend edition showing the back end of the ute with a bunch of dudes in the tray at Summernats on one of your many visits!
