OK guys coming down to the nitty gritty !
Are these polished on the outside and rough on the inside pattern ?? Looks as if they might be blasted to give that look.

Greg,
Door handle scratch plate: Should be a smooth finish everywhere. What you're seeing is verdigris. I think it should polish off (and I've had success cleaning it off with acrylic lacquer thinners).
Division channels: You'll see two or three little barbs inside the division channel. Lever them up so they point outwards. Then trim the bailey channel to length, line it up and squeeze it hard with your hands. Then drill 1/8" holes where the barbs are, clamp the bailey channel in place, and with a nail punch, tap the barbs down to retain the bailey channel.
Or you can do what everybody else does: Sikaflex.

1 I don't know
2 contact adhesive. You really do need to let it tack 15 minutes at least though before you bring two sides together. Window holds it in anyway.

1 - I have seen plenty of both frosted type as you have there and shiny ones that have no frosted centre section.
2 - I have just stuck them in with no Sikaflex and they haven't moved , but Robs method sounds like the best one to me ...

The scratch plates I have are original to the best of my knowledge and have etched centres and polished outer rim.

Thanks guys.
I will polish the outers and leave the inside etched.
