0.010" undersize camshaft?

Does anybody have a camshaft with 0.010" undersize journals?
I have a camshaft-less motor into which I tried to fit a replacement camshaft, without success.
The alternative is to replace the cam bearings with standard size journals, but I don't want to do that. Yet.

there was a red motor over here in a car like that - created no end of drama, the bloke who owned it insisted on having another set of undersized cam bearings fitted just so he could reuse the cam then onsold the car and caused headaches for the next owner - for what a cam is worth it isnt worth the pus and pain ....................

Agreed. It'd probably cost more to have the cam journals machined than a new set of standard cam bearings.
And I think the undersize cam bearings issue is what caused the motor to be sidelined in the first place.
Scenario 1: broken timing gear. Easy, thinks the owner, just a case of fitting another shaft complete with gear. Except that the replacement camshaft won't go into place.
Scenario 2: Or, this engine donates its camshaft to another engine. The recipient motor will suffer from general valvetrain noise and low oil pressure.
Either way it just means trouble.

Yeah, but I bet it would be so very easy to slip that camshaft in...

Correct. I "reassembled" it (minus rings) yesterday, but things came to a grinding halt when I tried installing a camshaft. I freed up all the valves and then put the head back together. Still have to return Harv's bin of rockers too.
