Parcel Shelf Under Glovebox
Parcel Shelf Under Glovebox
I know this topic has probably been discussed before but when I did a search I didn't find what I was looking for.
Does anybody have a short parcel shelf that they could trace and send me or maybe someone in WA or anybody have one for sale also fitting instructions
I know I'm asking a lot, any assistance greatly appreciated.
Neil

Re: Parcel Shelf Under Glovebox
I was looking at mine yesterday Neil - I haven't actually test fitted it but it's only about 600mm long so should not interfere with heater - there has been a few pop up recently - there is also a guy making brand new ones for 200 or 250$ I believe which is about the price of a half decent original

Re: Parcel Shelf Under Glovebox
ive got a template here Neil, Mick made it a couple of years ago. I made the parcel shelf in my ute
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Re: Parcel Shelf Under Glovebox
These are the fitting destructions for EJ/EH... I don't have FB/EK, but they should be similar.

Thanks for destructions Harv appreciated.
Hi Blacky that's great mate I would like to borrow it if that is ok when I get a chance to catch up with you, I'm off shore from 1st August and most of the month so will give you a buzz when I get back, thinking of using to to put my computer and relays on that way keep full glovebox, I'll just make a cover and put over them.

Re: Parcel Shelf Under Glovebox
I recall that the horsehair trim thingy comes in to play here.
And I’m sure they fit with the warmaride, sitting slightly below the bottom of the fan housing with a S light overlap.

Yes rob they screw to the firewall and through the kick panel trim on the side. Use a tapper on the side. You can use gutter bolts on the firewall or use self tappers and grind off the end in engine bay for a clean look.
Passengers may complain of a reduction in space in the foot well. I’m not a huge fan but in a ute maybe more space efficient. Neil your application sounds like a hood solution. Damn newfangled computers man, I don’t know you young boy racer hot rodders.

Re: Parcel Shelf Under Glovebox
looking at them closely they look the same apart from mine looks like the edge between the two tabs on the back edge has been rounded off a bit - might of been something there they wanted to clear perhaps
Sorry I didn't save his details so could be mistaken - The only thing special about them is the alloy front edge which ties back to the edge they used on the sun visors - pressed on - the rest is just steel sheet and very basic - if you could bend one up and weld a bit of round bar to front edge you would get a similar result.
Mine is badly pitted on the top surface so once cleaned up I will probably use a texture coat over it or glue a rubber sheet down to act as a anti-slide.
Does anyone know what was the original material they had on the top surface? Earlybitz one looks like he's using hood liner material.

Re: Parcel Shelf Under Glovebox
I don’t know the original trim but I used a bit of surplus seat vinyl. The hood lining material will get grubby quick.
