Hi all,

I have recently purchased and have had an original radio refurbished. I will be looking at fitting it into the vehicle soon, can someone please tell me if the radio needs additional brackets to be held into the dash? Or does the it screw in through the outer case of the Radio? Lastly, are these radio's easy to wire up or would you have to go to a specialist?

Not sure about the brackets but the wiring is easy, red to positive via a fuse, black to ground negative to a good earth (body of car) and the other pair is for your one and only dash speaker (2 terminal).

Hi Shane,
Simply a matter of sandwiching the dash face between radio body and facia plate, held in place by tube nuts around the control spindles. A steel strap is used to brace the forward facing end of the radio body to the plenum chamber just forward and above, fixed with self tappers. Radio is earthed through the case to car body. Power from fuse panel accessory circuit. You need the correct resistance for the speaker, think 8 ohms?

You may need to “trim” the antenna. With the aerial extended a bit over half way select a station mid dial. Turn the tuning screw back of radio to obtain highest signal.

Just a question:
JA steel strap is used to brace the forward facing end of the radio body to the plenum chamber just forward and above, Can I buy these straps from somewhere?

The rest of it sounds like trial and error!
