Some more flash kits

Post by sunnyben »

Heres Mick's FB (now in Vic?) which has a californian flash kit with gold anodised trim. Woodsman and Glade? Green.

This one is another of Steve Jackson's (thanks Steve) the Pink and Plum with Flashline kit. Egg is in the foreground looking for a toilet I think?
Image
The hundred dollar wagon in all its glory. Named after the purchase price and a regular around town for many years.

Here it is at the end of life (long after we sold it) All that is left is the flash kit and body tag today.
Image
Here is another of my car - castille green and snowcrest white with two piece jet stream flash kit and gold anodised trim. I have owned this now for almost 20 years now and its a keeper.

Just when you think you have seen all the flash kits - along comes another! We do have a sales catologue somewhere with most of them listed with pics from FE-HR (&*#@ and holden also),

There were two (that I know of) companies that made them. All have their own great names such as: flashline, californian, jet-stream, finline, arrowlook, miami, ambasodor and the list goes on. There are many many variations and strangely enough, they were made in Melbourne (sorry guys I know if you could find them you would put them on your cars   ).

In our travels, we found one on an FJ which might be legitimate, they were definitiely mass produced from FE-HQ and I know of a flashed HX Premier Wagon with spinner hubcaps on the Gold Coast! Rear embelisher kits for EJ, EH & HR for the rear beaver below the boot also, falcon styled embelishers for the lower rear quarters on EH!

The most spinny I have ever seen is a GTS HK Monaro with sideflash with woodgrain insert that would blow your mind, including spats and sunvisor!!!

I gave up photographing them a long time ago...I think most of them were owned by Steve anyway. Most seem to have disapeared into the ether now?

Valuable items in today's market I guess - impossible to find yet alone put a price on!

Ben, while I can appreciate what they are, I just don't like them, but I don't like any car with too much trim on the sides so I wouldn't be adding more.
I supose thats why I really like Standards :D ,

Ah Trev - I guess that's why you live in Victoria :(

I like standards also, owning a non flashed wedgewood blue FB standard with 66,000 miles and a cateract grey EK Ute with hundres of thousands of miles (+ my wife's FB Special with no flash kit).

I just like them all! (Flashed are very special though, but of course I am very biased! )

Anyway time to go outside and enjoy the sun shine - Its the weekend! ( :D ) For those that don't have sunshine, I'll post some more pics

Dirt got under them and rusted the cars to pieces?

Nah! but it is a good question you just don't see them around. Got to be somewhere.

considering he had about a thousand of them and they mostly seemed to have been sold in and around sydney where he spends a bit of his time you think you would bump into them
