rubber flooring

Hi all.

I'm keen to purchase 3 pieces of repro moulded rubber flooring for the EK (front, back, boot) but its a big spend at around $1200. So I'm after anyone's feedback on their experiences.

The last forum discussions were back in 2009 and 2013. So its about time to get an update I suppose.

I have tried to phone Obsolete Rubber Mats but they're just not answering. Are they still trading? Has anyone purchased their flooring?

I have spoken to All Car Carpets. They want all the money up front, then I wait 12 weeks...which seems a bit of an affront. I would need some awesome references here.

Are there any other companies out there?

Thanks for your advice

Tim

I got the whole set and while it took ages they rubber mats were worth the wait quality is excellence and so much better than carpet.

Unfortunately he is the only guy that does them, and he only does it on the side as it is not his full time job.

Hi D-MAN,

Would you be happy to post his details? How long ago did you purchase them?

Hi again everyone

I'm moving closer to a decision ....unless anyone knows other supplier's out there.

"All Car Carpets" want the money up front, all of the $400 for each mat, before they will start the 11 week process of making it. nobody here has recommended them (yet). I could buy on ebay with paypal so I have a paypal guarantee there.

"Obsolete Rubber" is $300 cheaper for the set. He wants only $100 deposit and the rest on delivery. One recommendation here (but 8 months???, and he is hard to get in touch with).

I've never bought floor mats, but did buy some Warmaride heater demister outlets from Obsolete. Damn nice product, and an honest seller. All the feedback I've seen on other forums seems to indicate that the Obsolete mats are very high quality.

Cheers,
Harv

Oh I'm going the rubber. I remember the grandparent's car with rubber flooring. At the moment it's got ill-fitting decrepit blue carpet that's decaying. Its gunna be a great day when rubber flooring is back in it :vecctor:

And that EK interior smell that takes me back! New carpet smell will ruin it haha

Getting ahead of myself on the van build again and ordered front floor mat and side bits from Martin at Obsolete Rubber Mats. I'd better get a wriggle on grafting the hydramatic floor pan in. Seriously though thought I better grab one while I can. I love the old vinyl hose out interiors.
I got hold of Martin on the mobile number from the site at https://sites.google.com/site/obsoleterubber/home
He takes eft or cheque. $100 deposit, balance cod. $320 all up. 12 weeks delivery.
Cheers
