Hi everyone, as it states I'm chasing a cast steel timing gear set from Master Engineering in Adelaide.
Not after the Speco ones on Ebay as that's what I'm having problems with.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Craig,
I gather Master Eng are still out of stock? I tried to obtain one from them last year but no joy. Good luck.

Check out Automotive Surplus in Mitchem. When I got a set from them a while ago, I am certain they weren't Speco.
Cheers

I think the Vic Club used to also keep a few of these in their stock? Maybe PM Rosco or someone form the Vic Club?

Thanks Stewart. I got onto Bill Reid via fb, just waiting on an answer as to whether I can buy one.

Just to let everyone know Master Engineering has closed its doors. All tooling and patterns were sold off to a guy in NSW......the chase continues.

What problems did you have with the Speco one Craig, I'm interested as I have one on mine as well ?

I found the helix angle on teeth too tight. Whilst it went in with the correct backlash, it wore to over 010" backlash due to poor tooth contact. The excess backlash then amounted to a noise and vibration at certain rpm and loads that was exacerbated by the billet steel material making a very metallic ringing noise.
