Hi guys,

I have been floating around on this site for the last few months and thought its about time I introduce myself.

I have been into cars since I learnt to drive, have gone through the 4x4 stage, the turbo stage and have recently came back from the dark side (water-cooled VW's :deaddd: ) and got my self a cool old FB Ute.

I wish I could tell you more about the old girl but im very limited on what I know. I can tell you its been in my family for about 15 years, its been off the road for about 7 years and I think originally it may of come from the Dubbo area ?
It was purchased as it pretty much sits now apart from having a bare metal re spray when it was bought back to Newcastle. (was red now blue)
Who ever owned it before my family had done all the mods on it.
Now im lacking knowledge of old holdens but from what I can see has had a 149 chucked in and married up to a Aussie 4 speed, some sort of front end swap (maybe HR or torana) and a few little bits and pieces.
Hopefully someone may be able to point me in the right direction to identifying the front end conversion.

Plans on the car are nothing crazy at the moment, I just want to refresh everything and get it back on the road as a weekend driver. Im happy to take my time and learn how to do things properly and have fun whilst doing.
After building and playing with VW's its a nice feeling to have something a little more simpler sitting in my shed to tinker with.

I have only got a couple of pictures at the moment, so hopefully I can get some more as progress takes place.

I have learnt so much from just browsing this site and im looking forward to learning so much more from the wealth of knowledge that im sure is floating round on this site.

Thanks for reading.

You may be aware of this but I believe FBs require larger bundy tubes to fit the later brakes. I have a feeling they boly up but dont seal properly. These days there may well be a conversion hose that I,m not up with. EKs being technologically more advanced already have this upgrade

Anyone quote the different diameters?

Hey guys
Once again I have been doing allot of lurking in the background on the forum, the amount of info on here is awesome and very handy.
Finally work commitments have allowed me to have some spare time to start working on the old girl.
So today I dropped the front end out so I can start the rebuild from ground up. Plans are to strip everything right back, sand blast, paint, all new hardware and new lowered springs shocks etc.

These seem to be original :boringg: along with most of the other hardware aswell. Every single joint was looking very tired

I'm sure this will keep me busy for a while
