EK TOOL KIT - OE - what was in it?

Post by FJWALLY »

Hi All,

Just curious but is there a specific list with pictures of the original tool kits that were supplied with the EK 61 series utes?

I found a nice clean scissors jack and the gent has a collection of early holden tools but no clue as to what exactly to grab

Your experience would be greatly appreciated.

Ha ha - yeah they would go well with the other boxes of "Stuff" in the garage that don't get used - I'm trying to be good Alan.

Looking forward to getting that washer bottle by the way - just have to track down a heater unit now and I have a great summer of modding ahead.

Thanks Tim,

I'm mainly after the basic tool kit and Jack and wheel brace and I have found them - haven't located a wallet for them to go in but will over time.

We bought our EK ute new and it came with a bottle jack. The tool kit was pretty basic - pliers, screwdriver, wheel brace/cap remover. It also had an orange covered vinyl wallet with a booklet about cleaning instructions etc. I still have the original purchase receipt, complete with the 2/6d stamp duty!

Thats Gold Deecee - for both being an original EK owner and for having the orrig kit - can you post up some pics?

Perhaps the kits were different each state as some I have found had the Scissor jacks - others bottles

No worries. I posted a pic on the "My FB/EK" forum. I'll get a photo of the original wallet and receipt. Watch this space!

OK, here's a photo of the original vinyl wallet that came with the car. It contained the user manual, a service record booklet and a car care guide that tells you how to remove ice-cream from the seats.
The sales receipt is also there. I'll add a close-up of the receipt as well. Note the 2/9d stamp duty.
