D-MAN's FB sedan

I finally pulled the pin and bought this FB.... he even threw in the fox tail so I couldn't say no
Hopefully will have it by the weekend as it needs to be transported up from Melbourne to Sydney.
Currently it is not running but hopefully it is an easy fix (famous last words) and only the coil needs replacing
Plans are to keep it stock and bring it back to its former glory - not after a show car but something that I can put on full rego and drive and enjoy it
It has some rust but not too bad.... will also need a respray which I will get done at the same time as rust repairs.
Which brings me to my next question - who in Sydney do you guys recommend for the rust and respray?

Thanks Blacky - most of the paint is good just needs a touch up in some areas

The sun visor needs reattachment as it has come away at the roof (is this something that is common????)




seats need restitching and that's about it.... hopefully

G'day D Man,
Good lookin set of wheels you grabbed there. The sun visors can get a bit of a wobble up particularly on the open road. Yours may not have helped it was missing the outer brackets and a couple of fixings.

What's with the baseball bat in the back seat? Is that the security system?

Hey D-MAN, by the look of the sunvisor is there any chance the brackets don't sit flush with your roof line??? You may have the wrong centre roof brackets fitted, sedan, wagon and ute are all different (you may already know this)

Apparently the visor was fitted from new - seems to have worked loose and it has been reattached on 2 seperate occasions as there are multiple holes in the roof and side panels.
If I can't find any cools ride brackets at a decent price I may not refit it.

I've been keeping an eye out for a pair of Coolaride brackets and a few have popped up. They seem to go for around $150 a pair. In the end I made a pair.

Hi Joe_FB do you have any photos of the sun visor brackets for the various models.

I didn't know they were different and have recently picked an FB station wagon one that I wanted to use on my Ute so now it seems that I need to find some ute brackets

Hi Neil, i don't have photos for all models only sedan and ute. Will post in a while.

As i believe, the roof line (angle) is slightly different in all models. I recently sized up a friends EK ute with my spare brackets and it fit perfectly. Sized them up on a sedan and big difference was noticed.

Even when the brackets aren't tightened, the brackets should still sit flat.
