Have a look in V8EK4US build as somewhere Gary put the dimensions of his console on there for me I changed it a little and it wasn't hard to build happy with how it turned out it may suit you .Give me a yell if you need any more information.

Billy,
Have you just painted the timber? Or have you put something over the timber frame? It looks great. If you are able to post the specs it would be fantastic.

Cheers,
Aaron.

I did fiberglass over all the timber to give it a little extra strength on the corners etc and to smooth it out but I am not a cabinet maker or anything like that just a retired printer that likes to try his hand at what life throws in front of him , As for the specs I just allted Gary's (V8EK4US) specs to suit my situation Thank You Gary

Really it wasn't that hard I will post Pictures of the under side (the part you don't see) tomorrow if I get a chance I am extremely happy with the way it turned out seeing as it seems to blend in with a STEEL car dash I could have covered it in vinyl but I think it would look out of place but that's just me.

Thanks Billy, you're right - it looks awesome. I thought you might have put some sort of metal cover over it.

I'll see if I can find the specs.

Cheers,
Aaron.

Hi Aaron
Here are the photos that I said I would post of the underside of console

I used 3mm masonite for the top & sides because I had it ! mdf would possible be better .I made the frame then cut top & sides to suit to bend the masonite I wet it and wrapped it in a wet towel overnight shaped it to suit then clamped it in place to dry for a few days Chopped may be able to tell you a better way (being a cabinet maker) but it worked for me I was expecting to have to do it more than once to get it right but worker first go    any help I can be let me know OTHER than make it for you

Thanks Billy. That's great. This is why I love this forum.

Hey, if you're looking for something to do, maybe you can mass produce these and sell them to people like me who have no tools, no space to build and no time (thanks to kids and basketball)!!!

You didn't happen to box out your boot and have measurements and photos of that, by any chance???
Cheers,
Aaron.

Another quick question: how did you fix the console to the car?

Cheers,
Aaron.

Hi Aaron
No boot ! I welded a piece under the dash and screwed in from the side with some nice headed screws where it won't be noticed as much and built a couple of bracket of the gearbox & tailshaft tunnels to hold it down. the shifter uses one and holds it down and there is another under the pocket area with a screw into it . So when your wife / partner puts all her shit in there it won't be seen either :hehhh" :hehhh" .
