Ute has been sitting for a few months, rego ran out
Anyway, when I checked it yesterday, the master cylinder was empty, and obviously no pedal, put a kit through the master cylinder and still no pedal? Cant see any leaks and not losing fluid.
Time for a beer I think
Any thoughts?

Ok Gazza, sorry for asking the obvious but.......
I gather then that all your shoes are adjusted up ok with minimal free play. When you say you have no pedal, is it not there at all (stays on the floor and you have to pull it up by hand) or is it just soft or spongy? I have found most of the time when starting from scratch that the master cylinder piston will hang up at the bottom of the cylinder due to tight cups and vacuum. This is especially worse when its cold and the fluid is less viscous, or if your using silicon brake fluid. I tend to bleed with out doing fast forceful pedal strokes. Slow and steady and allow time for the piston to return. Do half strokes if you can. Its a process but once you get a fair bit of air out the piston will come back ok and you can do full strokes. Open bleeders only enough to expel air under some pressure. Close before pressure drops off.
Also check to make sure you have put the cups in the right way. Lips of the cups should face the front of the vehicle and the front cup should have the grooves in it and small brass washer behind it (in front of the piston). Front cup allows fluid to flow over it on a returning pedal (recuperation). Also make sure you have the specified pedal free play and that the hole in the reservoir is open when the pedal is all the way back. This allows fluid to be supplied ahead of the piston to replace what is missing when the pedal is fully returned.

Had me stuffed for a while, removed and stripped the master cylinder, more time than I can remember.
Pressure tested the master cylender on the bench, put it back on and what do ya know, f#%cn brakes
Anyway sorted, must have been a lot of air in the lines
Off for rego next week
